The Business Administrator Apprenticeship provides essential skills including communication, IT proficiency and decision-making. The programme prepares apprentices for a variety of roles, such as administrative assistant, office administrator, receptionist and project coordinator and is well-suited to those working across multiple sectors – including public, private and charitable organisations.

This is a Level 3 qualification, designed for those in junior roles. Upon completion, apprentices will be equipped to succeed in a wide range of administrative positions and progress towards management responsibilities.

Apprenticeships

Our apprenticeships are delivered through a blend of virtual and face to face sessions, led by subject specialists. Our flexible delivery mode and small cohort sizes enable us to tailor apprenticeship programmes to your particular requirements.

During their time on the programme, apprentices will cover a range of core areas and topics including:

For apprentices aged 16-18, achieving Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English is mandatory, unless already obtained the equivalent GCSE at grade 4/C or above.

For apprentices aged 19 and over, undertaking Functional Skills is optional but must be agreed with the employer.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, Business Administrators will gain the following knowledge and skills and will be able to exhibit the following behaviours:

Knowledge:

Organisational Understanding and Business Fundamentals – Understand the organisations purpose, values, and vision as well as recognising key business principles including managing change, finances, and project management.

Stakeholder Management and Communication – Practical knowledge of how to manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, clients, and suppliers.

Regulations, Policies, and Processes – Understand relevant laws and regulations, internal policies, and processes to ensure organisational compliance and efficiency.

Skills:

Communication and Interpersonal – Communicate clearly and confidently to build and maintain positive stakeholder relationships.

Planning and Organising – Complete tasks successfully to meet deadlines, manage resources and plan events or projects effectively.

IT Proficient and Document Production – Use various IT systems for creating proposals, payments and reports. Produce accurate documents, handle confidential information, and make recommendations for improvements.

Behaviours:

Professional and Responsible – Demonstrate high standards of personal presentation, contribute to team cohesion and take responsibility for teams performance.

Performance Management – Demonstrate integrity, reliability, self-motivation, and a proactive attitude. Accept feedback constructively, showing resilience, and take responsibility for personal development and task completion.
