What’s Involved

For apprentices aged 16-18, achieving Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English is mandatory, unless already obtained the equivalent GCSE at grade 4/C or above.

For apprentices aged 19 and over, undertaking Functional Skills is optional but must be agreed with the employer.

Once completed, Business Analyst Practitioners will have acquired the following knowledge and skills, and will be able to exhibit the following behaviours:

  • The definition and the value of Business Analysis – and the role of the Business Analyst.
  • Approaches to conducting the analysis of both the internal and external industry environment.
  • How data needs are considered in business improvement.
  • The purpose and importance of business change impact assessment.
  • Technology and industry trends across the digital sector – and the opportunities these bring for business improvement and IT solutions.

Skills:

  • Applying appropriate approaches to scoping, planning and performing Business Analysis.
  • Modelling business processes, using techniques and software tools.
  • Identify actions required to move from current to future business situation.
  • Support the development of cost/benefit analysis for proposed business changes.
  • Present information in a manner appropriate to the audience.
