The Marketing Executive Apprenticeship will provide apprentices with an understanding of fundamental marketing concepts as well as the skills to successfully implement tactical marketing activities. This apprenticeship is designed by industry leaders with the prerequisites for registration as an Affiliate Member with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

The Marketing Executive Apprenticeship is ideal for those with some previous marketing experience. This Level 4 programme is designed to enable apprentices to develop marketing, project and team management skills in order to effectively implement marketing plans.

Apprenticeships

We have mapped the Marketing Executive Apprenticeship knowledge content to the CIM Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing. This means the apprentice can gain the CIM Certificate in Professional & Digital Marketing by simply taking two 10 credit modules.

For apprentices aged 16-18, achieving Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English is mandatory, unless already obtained the equivalent GCSE at grade 4/C or above.

For apprentices aged 19 and over, undertaking Functional Skills is optional but must be agreed with the employer.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, Marketing Executive apprentices will gain the following knowledge and skills, and will be able to exhibit the following behaviours:

Knowledge:

Marketing Concepts & Theories – The fundamentals of marketing theory that supports the marketing process, concepts of branding as well as the principles of stakeholder management and customer relationship management (CRM).

Business Understanding & Commercial Awareness – The characteristics of different businesses and sectors, how marketing contributes to achieving wider business objectives and the target audience decision making process.

Products and Channels – The principles of product development and product/service portfolios and the features of different marketing communications channels.

Skills:

Marketing Campaigns – Co-ordinate and maintain key marketing channels, plan and deliver tactical campaigns, as well as manage the production and distribution of marketing materials.

Budget Management – Monitor project budgets within their scope of work using appropriate systems and controls.

Evaluation and Analysis – Evaluate the effectiveness of marketing campaigns by choosing the appropriate data sources and analyse the data to derive insights to support improvements to future campaigns.
