The Marketing Manager Apprenticeship will provide apprentices with the knowledge and skills to lead marketing strategy development and to manage the resources required to deliver it. The Level 6 programme enables apprentices to develop effective strategic marketing plans and manage its implementation within the organisation.

The Marketing Manager Apprenticeship is suitable for those who already have experience in working in marketing, communications, or brand management. This apprenticeship has been developed together with industry leaders and gives the opportunity to register as an Affiliate Member with the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

We have mapped the Marketing Manager Apprenticeship knowledge content to the CIM Diploma in Professional and Digital Marketing. This means the apprentice can gain a CIM Level 6 qualification by simply taking three 10 credit modules.

For apprentices aged 16-18, achieving Functional Skills qualifications in Maths and English is mandatory, unless already obtained the equivalent GCSE at grade 4/C or above.

For apprentices aged 19 and over, undertaking Functional Skills is optional but must be agreed with the employer.

Upon completion of the apprenticeship, Marketing Managers will gain the following knowledge and skills and will be able to exhibit the following behaviours:

Marketing Concepts and Theories – The principles and theories of marketing, brand development, consumer and organisational behaviour concepts, advanced stakeholder management and marketing communications planning.

Business Understanding and Commercial Awareness – Exploring organisation vision, mission and values, the wider business perspective in which marketing operates as well as how to measure and deliver Return on Investment.

Market Research and Insight – Understanding the fundamentals of market research and evaluation techniques as well as using information sources to deliver measurable improvements to marketing activities.

Skills: 

Marketing Strategy – Lead and implement a clear marketing plan and strategy as well as develop effective marketing campaigns and integrated channel plans.

Advanced Interpersonal and Communication Skills – Learn to influence, negotiate, and persuade at senior level collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders.

Planning and Analysing – Evaluate marketing activities using data and analytics to identify relevant key performance indicators (KPIs) and return on marketing investment (ROI) to meet business objectives.

Behaviours: 

Agile and Flexible – Demonstrate the ability anticipate and adapt to change, acting with courage to drive through necessary changes.

Creative and Commercial Thinker – Show a creative and innovative approach to marketing as well as an analytical mind to unearth insights.
